The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine (PACCM) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is seeking seek outstanding junior scientists and physician-scientists at the level of Research Instructor, Research Assistant Professor, and Research Associate Professor, outside the tenure stream. Attractive resources are available to establish a vibrant research program. PACCM supports active basic and clinical research programs in asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, sleep disorders, ILD, and ARDS/ALI.
The faculty member should have a doctoral degree (MD, Ph.D., DO, or the equivalent).
The research instructor rank is best for faculty with three years or less of professional experience following a doctoral degree. The research assistant should meet the previous requirements and have been published five or more times in peer-reviewed journals. The research associate professor will have served a minimum of five years as a research assistant professor and often has a scholarly publication record with fifteen or more peer-reviewed publications.
Successful applicants will be current postdoctoral associates or research assistant professors with an MD or MD/Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
